Jean Batten! By Sammy

In the first week of term 3 we were working on Jean Batten. We needed to complete 5 out of 8 activities then send our best 3.

I am going to share my plane that I drew, My Then and Now and my Timeline of jean batten.


  

TIMELINE: Born in Rotorua: 15 september 1909 
1913: she moved to Auckland with her family 
1930: when she turned 20 she travelled to England to learn to fly
 1932: she learned to fully fly 
1933: Jean got trapped in a sandstorm in syria 
May 8 1934: she set a world record and reached Darwin in 14 days, twenty two hours and thirty minutes 1935: she got a Percival Gull and flew from England to Brazil 
1936: Jean flew almost 22,000 kilometers from England to New Zealand 
16 October 1936: she returned to her hometown Rotorua 
The following february: She went to Australia. 
A few months later: She flew back to England and did short flights in England 
22 November 1982: She died after being bit by a dog and refusing medical care
